Lifestyle Accessory Design Studio (Capstone)

One accessory, resolved from concept to production sample.

This capstone studio applies every prior course in the specialization to a single, complete accessory brief, chosen from bags, jewellery, footwear, or small accessories, carried from concept through a production-ready sample and a critical review.

In Development

This course's full module content is being written. The outline below is final, subscribe for updates when it publishes.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. 01 Select and scope a capstone accessory brief appropriate to the specialization
  2. 02 Integrate construction, materials, ergonomics, and identity-signal decisions coherently
  3. 03 Carry a design from concept through a production-ready sample
  4. 04 Present and defend design decisions to a critical review audience
  5. 05 Reflect on material sourcing and durability trade-offs made across the project
01

Choosing & Scoping the Capstone Brief

A strong capstone brief is specific enough to exercise construction, material, and fit skills in depth, within a single accessory category rather than spread thin across several.
01 ▶ present
02

Integrating Construction & Material Decisions

The capstone is where construction method and material choice must finally be resolved together on one real object, surfacing conflicts that studying each separately did not reveal.
02 ▶ present
03

Fit & Wearability Testing

The capstone piece should be tested for fit and wearability against real bodies, closing the loop between design intent and lived use.
03 ▶ present
04

Producing a Production-Ready Sample

The capstone is not complete until a sample exists that a manufacturing partner could evaluate directly, the practical test of everything learned across the specialization.
04 ▶ present
05

Critical Review & Defense

Presenting the capstone means defending specific construction, material, and fit decisions to a critical audience, not simply displaying the finished sample.
